LOCKHART, Texas (KXAN) — Floodwaters left a slew of debris and damage across Caldwell County, prompting county judge Ken Schawe to declare the county in a state of disaster Monday morning.

According to the declaration, many county roads suffered significant damage due to flooding.

A declaration of disaster allows the county to free up resources and immediately begin working to clean up after the floods.
