Car crashes into gas line in North Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Traffic was backed up in North Austin after a vehicle drove into a gas line Saturday night.

Police responded to the 200 block of East Anderson Lane, near Northcrest Boulevard, at around 6:54 p.m., where a car swerved into a gas meter.

According to APD, the crash caused a major leak in the area.

Texas Gas Service said the driver of the car managed to exit the vehicle safely and no one was injured.

While crews were fixing the leak, the westbound lanes of Anderson Lane were shut down.
