AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County Sheriff’s deputies and Austin-Travis County EMS have suspended the search for a person believed to have gone missing in floodwaters Friday night.

Crews were searching for a stranded driver near the 6300 block of Spicewood Springs Road.

According to witnesses, a 4-door sedan was seen swept away from the area. First responders did not find the vehicle witnesses described. Instead, they found a pickup truck with no one inside.

A helicopter continued to look for a possible missing person around Bull Creek Saturday morning. Shortly after noon, crews had to suspend the search due to the heavy flooding in the area.

TCSO says they plan to resume the search once the floodwaters go down.
