LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) – An adult and child were playing in the San Gabriel river when they had to be rescued Thursday afternoon in Leander.

Leander Fire Chief Bill Gardner tells KXAN one person was on a boogie board and the other on a float in the fast-flowing, flooded river.

StarFlight was called in to help spot the pair who were eventually rescued by the Leander Fire Department’s technical rescue and boat team.

The adult and child were not hurt.
