Police: Woman held captive in storage unit; used as sex slave

Storage unit - NBC News

SPOKANE, WA (KHQ)– Court documents paint a horrifying picture of a Spokane, Washington woman held against her will and raped for days in a storage unit near Spokane Community College. After days of abuse, the woman says she was only able to escape after telling her captor that she needed some air.

The suspect has not yet been charged with a crime.

According to the victim, it appeared the suspect lived in the unit, as it had a recliner, a hot plate and a small stove.

After telling the man she was cold, she says he handed her a cup of coffee and said, “drink this.” The victim says the next thing she remembers, the suspect began removing her clothes. The woman told police for the next several days she was in and out of consciousness and would wake up to the suspect raping her. The woman described not being able to get up, as if she had been drugged

Three days after her ordeal began, she told the suspect she needed fresh air, and he let her outside. That’s when she walked to a nearby bus stop and called her sister.

After contacting police, detectives went to the storage unit and found it was just as the victim had described, but the suspect was not at the unit.
