Boy destroys $15K Lego statue within hour of unveiling

Ningbo, China (KXAN) – The first thing a lot of children are taught about museum art displays is ‘look but don’t touch.’ As any parent can attest to, children sometimes need a little reminding about what is right and what is wrong.

It’s possible a little boy in China is being reminded of that right now after he caused three days of work to disappear in an instant.

According to CCTVNews, the Chinese artist, Mr. Zhao, spent three days building a life-size version of Nick, a character from the Disney movie Zootopia. The artist spent approximately $15,000 on the Lego bricks necessary to complete his project.

Within an hour of the exhibit opening to the public, a little boy, about four or five years old, probably super excited to see one of his favorite characters in person, pushed the statue over. Whoops!

The family apologized to the artist and even offered to pay for the damages. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
