Three teens, 2 children injured in Northeast Austin crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Three teenagers and two young children were taken to the hospital after the car they were in ran into a tree Monday afternoon.

Austin police say the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 7600 block of Cameron Road. Austin-Travis County EMS says a teenage girl was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge in critical condition. Two male teenagers were also taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries.Two children under the age of 10 were taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the driver to go off the road and crash into the tree. The age of the driver is unknown at this time.

Northbound lanes of Cameron Road at Anderson Lane are blocked while police investigate the crash.
