In 2013 Becca Roberie was a newly minted graduate with a master’s in criminal justice and a family counting on her to contribute financially. Unable to find work in her field Becca did what she always does; she got creative. Becoming a mother was tough transition in part because there wasn’t anything on the market that spoke to her funky individuality, so she began tie dyeing burp cloths and Austin Tie Dye Co. was born. With her husband’s support, she began to dye clothing and blankets in her garage after her then 18 month old son was in bed. Since then, Austin Tie Dye Co. has grown to occupy a warehouse and employ a staff of 6. Austin Tie Dye Co. blankets are becoming known for their softness and funky, bright colors which are resonating with new moms out there who are looking for something a little more unique. Since their humble beginnings, Austin Tie Dye Co. blankets can now be found in over 70 stores across the United States and they are starting to expand internationally. Austin Tie Dye Company is located on North Lamar. You can see all their cool stuff at austintiedyeco.com or call 512-508-7837.
