HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers in Hays Country are offering a $1,000 reward for help solving two burglaries where nearly 30 firearms were stolen.

Deputies say thieves broke into a home near Nutty Brown Road and FM 1826 between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 14. They took seven rifles, two handguns, a shotgun and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Deputies say thieves broke into another home on North Canyonwood Drive, north of HWY 290 in Dripping Springs between 11 p.m. Sunday, April 10 and 10 a.m. Monday, April 11. The suspects used torches to cut into two gun safes and stole fifteen rifles, two shotguns and two handguns.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office has not said whether the two cases are related and don’t have any suspects.

Anyone with information that helps locate the suspects and recover the firearms is asked to call the Hays County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-8477.
