AUSTIN (KXAN) — The threat of severe weather this weekend has caused the Longhorns to adjust their weekend schedules across a couple of sports.

The Texas baseball team is hosting Kansas in a three-game series this weekend. In an attempt to avoid the weather on Sunday, the two will play a double header at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Friday starting at 4 p.m. and wrap up the series Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

Texas State’s baseball team is doing the same thing for its series against Little Rock at Bobcat Ballpark. The series will start at 3 p.m. on Friday, with the second game to start around 6:30 p.m. The series finale will be Saturday at 1 p.m.

While the Texas softball team is on the road in Norman taking on Oklahoma this weekend, that series has also been consolidated with a double header on Friday and one game on Saturday to avoid Sunday’s threat of storms.

Saturday’s annual Orange and White Spring Game will continue as planned with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. Fan Fest will begin 11 a.m. in the Red McCombs Red Zone in the north end of the Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The spring game will wrap up spring football for the Longhorns and is the fans’ first chance to see what the offense will look like under new offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
