AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds of employers are looking to fill thousands of jobs in the Austin area.

Friday afternoon, Austin Community College will host a job fair and career exploration event to connect employers with those seeking work in the Austin community. The event is at the Highland Campus from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Stacey Guney, Director of the Highland Campus Accelerator, joined us in the KXAN studio to tell you more about the job fair.

Over 150 employers will be looking for eager job applicants. There are over 5,000 jobs from full to part-time and internships being offered.

“There are openings in everything from computer networking and programming, to health care, education and manufacturing,” said Guney.

Job-seekers will be given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with employers. Guney recommends attendees bring copies of their resumes and come dressed for an interview.

If you’re nervous about the interview staffing experts will assist attendees with interview preparation, resume review, job searching tips, advice on using Linkedin and professional networking.
