AUSTIN (KXAN) — Strong storms brought tiny pea-sized hail to most of the Austin area.

Some reports of marble sized hail and 30 mph winds. Heavy thunder storms moved northeast at a rate of 45 to 50 mph. Viewers reported lightning strikes across the Austin-metro-area.

Rain fall will most likely persist throughout the day, ending sometime tonight. The Hill County is expected to see the most rain in addition to an isolated thunderstorm.

Clouds and rain will dissipate by midnight making for a cool start to Saturday morning. KXAN meteorologists say it should be a beautiful first weekend of April.
