AUSTIN (KXAN) — After more than $2,000 in sunglasses and eye glasses were stolen from a South Austin eye care center, the staff are asking for the public’s help finding the suspect.

The optometrist told KXAN another nearby office also had merchandise stolen from the same man. “As a small business owner, that amount of loss is painful,” she said.

The shoplifting incident at the EyeRis Vision not far from Barton Skyway was reported to authorities Thursday. Austin police say they could not go into the details of the case because no investigator has been assigned yet.

If you recognize the suspect, please call Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS (8477).
