New Braunfels teen charged with threatening to shoot up a kindergarten

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — A pre-trial hearing is set for a New Braunfels teen charged with threatening to shoot up a kindergarten.

Justin Carter was arrested back in 2013 after posting the threat online to Facebook. Carter’s lawyer said the post was a poorly thought out sarcastic joke. Authorities say the post was made in an exchange between Carter and a League of Legends player.

The attorney for Carter, Don Flanary, is also the representation for an Austin student charged with making a terroristic threat in a Tweet.

During the hearing an update will be given on the case in addition to when the trial with commence.

If convicted, Carter could face up to eight years in prison.

Carter’s Facebook post stated: “I’m [expletive] in the head alright, I think I’ma SHOOT UP A KINDERGARTEN, AND WATCH THE BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT RAIN DOWN, AND EAT THE BEATING HEART OF ONE OF THEM.”
