SWAT standoff ends peacefully in Northwest Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A SWAT standoff in Northwest Austin came to a peaceful end Saturday morning

Officers say a man, who sounded drunk, made a threatening phone call to police around 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Crossland Economy Studios just off Research Boulevard.

Officers were called to the scene after the man told them he wanted to get into a standoff with police and that he had a gun.

After two hours of trying to get the man to come out, the SWAT team was called in.

After two more hours of negotiating with the man, he surrendered and police arrested him.

No one was hurt.
