SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — Northbound lanes of Interstate 35 in San Marcos were closed for a short period of time on Friday afternoon as emergency crews worked on cleaning up gravel on the roadway.

The load spilled around 1:45 p.m. near Wonder World Drive and traffic was detoured to the frontage road.

The freeway reopened just before 2:30 p.m., but traffic is still moving slowly through the area.
