AUSTIN (KXAN) — The man suspected of being involved in the Comerica Bank robbery last Friday, Feb. 19, has been arrested.
Shane Alexander Taylor, 30, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Tuesday afternoon in the 4600 block of Connelly Street without incident. Taylor was sought by the task force after being identified by his parole officer as the suspect in the robbery.
The robbery happened at the Comerica Bank located at 2315 E. Anderson Lane. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money; if he didn’t get the money, the note read, “people would be hurt.” There were no report of any injuries and no weapon was displayed, authorities say. The teller placed a red dye pack with the money and it sprayed on the suspect as he ran from the bank.
Taylor was transported to the Travis County Jail, where he admitted to robbing the bank.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, said, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is committed to rooting out the fugitive element from our communities who continue to engage in criminal conduct and victimize the public.”
