Squirrel knocks out power of hundreds in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Almost 800 people were out of power Sunday morning after a squirrel caused an outage.

According to Bluebonnet Electricity the power outage happened around 11:30 a.m. and knocked the power out for 778 customers along Texas 21 and U.S. 77.

Responding crews then discovered the cause of the outage to be a squirrel.

Bluebonnet and LCRA crews were then able to restore power in an hour through alternative methods as they continue to work to fix the problem.
