UT police: Student reports sexual assault on campus

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An on-campus sexual assault was reported Tuesday morning by a University of Texas student, according to UT police.

Authorities were notified at 10:30 a.m. that the assault took place either Monday night or early Tuesday morning. In a statement sent out to students, the university says the student and the attacker, who is not connected to UT, had spent time together earlier Monday evening.

UT police say there is no threat to the campus. Students are encouraged to report all crime, including sexual assaults, to the university police at 512-471-4441. The investigation is ongoing.
