AUSTIN (KXAN) — Students at Bowie High School were sent home early on Tuesday after a water line break cut-off running water to the school.

The Austin Independent School District says maintenance crews are trying to identify the cause of the break and fix it as soon as possible. While lunch was still served, around 1 p.m., the district decided to dismiss students early due to the water problem.

Hand-washing stations, bottled water, and portable toilets were brought it for the first half of the day.

Tuesday night, AISD said all classes at Bowie will be held as scheduled Wednesday. AISD staff made all the necessary repairs.
