Counterfeit designer products seized from Austin store

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police have arrested a local store manager accused of selling counterfeit designer handbags.

Manager 35-year-old Irfanbhai Momin, faces counterfeit charges after a private investigator identified numerous fake designer products on display in the store, according to the arrest affidavit.

The investigator told Austin police he observed counterfeit Louis Vuitton, Burberry, an Otterbox products at the Mi Pueblito store on 8905 N Lamar Blvd.

While investigators were at the scene, Momin arrived at the store behaving belligerently, as stated in the affidavit. Two of the store’s employees pointed out Momin as the manager of Mi Pueblito.

As the manager of the store, police determined Momin was responsible for knowingly possessing and selling counterfeit products

Momin is now out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
