LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — Two Leander Independent School District students who were walking to school on Friday morning were hit by a pickup truck.

Leander police were called to the intersection of Raider Way and East Crystal Falls Parkway around 8:13 a.m. in Leander. Crews are investigating the collision between a pickup truck and the two male students.

The students are 15 and 11-years-old. The 15-year-old was on his way to Rouse High School, and the 11-year-old was heading to Wiley Middle School.

Police believe the driver was a 17-year-old going southbound on Raider Way turning onto Crystal Falls when he collided with the students on the crosswalk.

The students were taken to Dell Children’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and were released Friday evening. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
