GALVESTON (KXAN) — Swift breezes and high speeds propel you downward leaving a trail of water droplets soaring behind you while you race down Schlitterbaun’s latest attraction; the world’s tallest water coaster.

Located on Galveston Island, the water park has announced their plans to construct MASSIV, the tallest water coaster in the world to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

MASSIV, the German word for massive, will offer thrill-seekers a way to pump their adrenaline while cooling off from the summer sun.

“We are thrilled to be bringing this iconic ride to Galveston Island,” said Ron Sutula, General Manager for Schlitterbahn Galveston Island. “It’s a massive anniversary present to all our guests, and is going to be a blast to ride!”

The coaster will also feature numerous other innovations, like the triple-drop, which lands the rider in a pool after being blasted with six jets.

Measurements of the water coaster will be released this Spring.
