Friday was Career Day at Govalle Elementary School. Students heard from working professionals from many different fields.

APD’s Bomb Squad gave a demonstration that was popular with the students. For them, it’s a new opportunity for learning.

McKenzie Robbins, a fifth grade student, said, “I think that students should have career day, because people from different careers can come to our school and other students can learn about the careers and maybe get interested.” McKenzie’s favorite presentation was the bomb squad, who brought their robot, but she wants to become a video game designer.

Among Friday’s presenters, KXAN reporter Alicia Inns, who answered students’ questions about journalism with photojournalist Dani Guerrero.
