AUSTIN (KXAN) — Athletes from across the state are coming to Austin to participate in the Special Olympics Texas Winter Games.

Steve Helms with Special Olympics Texas joined us in the KXAN studio to preview the event.

  • 2,500 + athletes will compete
  • 3 Sports: Bowling, Power-lifting, Volleyball
  • 2,000 volunteers

However, more volunteers are needed to help out with the games. The biggest need for volunteers is at all of the bowling venues during the three days of the competition.

Event will be Feb. 4 to Feb 7.
