Free Fun in Austin: Tree giveaways and more

Fruit Tree Giveaway Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. All Austin Energy customers can take home two FREE fruit trees (peaches, plums, pears, persimmons, or figs) to plant at home. First come, first served; there will be approximately 1,000 trees. Be sure to bring your utility bill or drivers license with an Austin address. See a map indicating where the trees will be given away. Near ACC Highland (Previously Highland Mall), 799 E Highland Mall Blvd, Austin.

Drawing Salon Series– Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Using Ney’s sculptural works as inspiration, participants will develop observational and conceptual skills through unique drawing exercises. The museum will provide all required materials, and trained staff members will be on hand to offer constructive advice and guidance. Participation is FREE and open to all ages. Summer Camp Fair Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Opportunity for families to visit with various local and overnight Spring Break and summer camps. There will be entertainment, as well as camp giveaways. FREE! Palmer Event Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin.

Screen Printing Workshop– Sunday from 1-4:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to screen print an image designed by Tony Perez of local screen printing studio Ramona Press. Create your own screen printed poster inspired by techniques found in the Obra Gráfica: Selections from the Mexic-Arte Museum Print Collection exhibition. Open to all ages. Admission and materials are provided FREE of charge. Mexic-Arte Museum, 419 Congress Ave, Austin.

Octavitas Celebration– Sunday from 2-5:00 p.m. Los Reyes Magos (The Three Kings) are coming to Austin to celebrate Octavitas. Sing aguinaldos one last time and enjoy PRFDance performances. Bring the kids; the Reyes always bring gifts. FREE! Donations welcome. Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance & Cultural Center, 701 Tillery St, Austin.
