Traffic Alert: MoPac closures scheduled for pedestrian bridge

Closures scheduled for South MoPac Jan. 17-Jan.25

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Construction on the new pedestrian and bike bridge through the Barton Creek Greenbelt will shut down the northbound lanes of MoPac between Southwest Parkway and Loop 360 overnight from Jan. 17 to Jan.25.

The closures include the eastbound US 290 ramp to Mopac northbound and will run from 8 p.m. to 5.a.m. every night. Drivers will need to use US 290/SH 71 and Loop 360 to reach Mopac around the construction.

Construction crews will be hanging concrete beams for the new pedestrian bridge.

TxDOT is asking that people who need to drive in that area allow extra travel time and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
