AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man is in the Travis County Jail accused of stabbing a woman several times after what appears to be a road rage incident, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police say on the afternoon of Jan. 5, Victoria Higdon, along with her two passengers, were driving to a friend’ house on Valley Hill Circle when a vehicle being driven by Carlos Reyna, 41, swung out in front of her to back into a driveway. The two drivers exchanged some words and possibly some hand gestures, continued in the affidavit. After the verbal altercation, Higdon continued to her friend’s home but she told police Reyna continued to follow her to exchange more words before driving back to their house.

A few minutes later, as the victim was leaving the neighborhood, Reyna was standing in the middle of the street. The victim said she rolled down her window and asked Reyna “what his problem was.” According to the court documents, Reyna then walked up to the driver’s window, pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the face, shoulder and arm.

Reyna is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
