Antone’s Blues Night Club reopening tonight

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The historic Antone’s Blues Night Club is reopening in Austin on New Year’s Eve.

The new location is on East 5th Street between San Jacinto and Trinity.

You can get tickets for tonight’s show, staring C.J. Chenier and the Red-Hot Louisiana Band, starting today. Tickets are $20 each, and can be purchased starting at 5 p.m. at the box office located at 305 E. 5th Street.

The club originally opened in 1975, but has moved several times since.

“It’s an Austin tradition, this is an institution in Austin, in terms of live music and to be here with them back in downtown what an opportunity, and you can’t beat $20 for a New Years Eve,” Eric Roe said.

Sue Ladriere said, “This is great, this is fantastic, I miss Antone’s a lot, I miss them a lot I saw a lot of great bands here at Antone’s. Buddy guy, Stevie Ray everybody you know so this is great that we’re bringing the blues back home.”
