The Seabin Project is an “automated marina rubbish bin that collects floating rubbish, debris and oil 24/7,” the project’s creators wrote on the Indiegogo fundraising page.
Founders Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski write that trash and debris are caught in a natural fiber bag. The trash stays in the can and the rest of the water flows through it.
The creators say this is a way for people to see what they are swimming in and prevent further pollution into our oceans.

“A simple solution to our oceans pollution,” Turton and Ceglinski write. They say they have already installed the devices at some ports and marinas and want to expand their idea.
