Good Samaritans help rescue Alabama woman and her car from flooded roadway

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Flash flood warnings made roads across Central Alabama impassable on Christmas night. It led to a few people getting stuck on the roadways. That includes Tania Owens who’s vehicle got caught on the southside of Birmingham near UAB’s campus.

Thankfully a few good Samaritans were there to help. They were able to pull Owens and her car out of the water. Owens said she learned a very important lesson, “Avoid getting in this weather. Avoid getting in this weather.”

Emergency managers in most counties throughout the area are asking everyone to not drive tonight.
