APD investigating another I-35 rock throwing case

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Another rock throwing incident was reported to Austin police Dec. 12 around 3:00 a.m. on I-35.

Austin police confirmed to KXAN a rock was thrown at a car Saturday morning on the southbound side of I-35 at the Riverside Drive overpass. The offense, treated by police as an aggravated assault, has become a common occurrence on I-35 in Austin. Since last year, there have been more than 40 cases of rocks thrown at cars on I-35.

APD said they are handling this investigation as a top priority.
