AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police stopped a chase Wednesday after a patrol car crashed into another car.

Police say the chase began after officers responded to an emergency call of shots fired at around 10:25 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Lakeshore Blvd.

When officers arrived, they started chasing a car involved in the incident.

One patrol car crashed into another car on North Pleasant Valley Road near Second Street.

Austin Police say the driver of the car was taken to UMC Brackenridge.

His injuries are non-life threatening.

The two officers involved in the crash were not injured.

APD says it’s not clear who caused the crash.

Officers later found the suspect’s car near Goodwin Street and Gunter Avenue, just north of the intersection of Springdale Road and Airport Boulevard.

They then found the suspect in a nearby house and arrested him.

Police say the man may have warrants out for his arrest.
