BUDA, Texas (KXAN) — Two adults and one juvenile are in custody in Hays County accused of stealing and burglarizing vehicles over the past few weeks.
Buda police say an officer came across the suspects while patrolling the Ashford Park neighborhood around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. The officer spotted a reported stolen vehicle in the area of Faircrest Drive. When the officer tried to pull the driver over, the driver took off and lead the officer on a short chase to Ashford Park Boulevard and Winborne Way. Three males jumped out of the car and ran away but police were able to apprehend them a short time later.
The suspects have been identified as 17-year-old Jose Delamora, of Austin, Kenneth Lee Jr., 17, of Austin, and one juvenile. Delamora and Lee were booked into the Hays County Jail and the juvenile was transported to the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center.
The suspects are facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary of a vehicle and engaging in organized criminal activity. Police believe the suspects may also be responsible for other vehicle burglaries and thefts in the area.
