Police need help identifying South Austin robbery suspect

Man believed to have robbed two convenience stores

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police need help catching a man who they say robbed two convenience stores in South Austin last week.

Police say the first robbery happened just after 3 a.m. at 6303 Manchaca Rd. on Nov. 9. The second robbery happened the following day at 1601 E. St. Elmo Rd. around 12:50 a.m. In both cases police say the suspect displayed a handgun. No one has been injured in the robberies.

The suspect might be a transient.

Suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • In his 30s
  • 5’8” to 6’ tall
  • Thin build1-2 inch scar or mark under right eye

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and white and black shoes.
