AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police officers are investigating after a woman’s body was found inside a Central Austin home.

Police say someone went to check on a woman who lived in a home on the 7500 block of Northcrest Boulevard and called 911 at 8:45 p.m. to report finding the woman with “obvious trauma” on her body.

The victim’s next-door neighbor says he heard two people yelling and a lot of commotion from the house two nights ago. Mark Rangel says, “A bunch of lights were still on, her car was still there and it had been on all that day I thought something may have been wrong.”

“She was smart, she was very nice, she did nothing wrong, I mean, I didn’t see anything wrong,” Rangel added.

Austin-Travis County EMS medics pronounced her dead at 8:53 p.m.

APD officers are talking to witnesses and ask anyone with information to call 512-472-TIPS.
