AUSTIN (KXAN) — The city of Austin is hosting a unique competition that uses entrepreneurial innovation to save landfill space.

The “Reverse Pitch” has companies looking to re-purpose raw materials into new business ideas.

They are asking entrepreneurs to come up with ideas on how to use raw materials instead of dumping them into our expanding landfills.

The entrepreneur with the winning concept will get a $10,000 prize. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
