Did Back To The Future accurately predict 2015?

U.S. (KXAN) — It’s a day fans of the classic movie Back To The Future have been waiting for, for 26 years. October 21, 2015.

The day Marty McFly and Doc Brown landed in the future in the second film.

CNN’s Jeanne Moos looked to see if any of the film’s predictions came true.

The future is becoming the past, as the time traveling machine’s destination matches the calendar.


While a flying Delorian might not exist, flying cars like the Aeromobil are getting off the ground.


While hover-boards do exist, the users seem to be the ones doing most of the flying, off the board that is.


Waiting for Nike to match the movie with McFly’s self-tying laces? Powerlace claims to have the technology, even though they haven’t tied up the financing for production yet.


Unfortunately it is 2015 and there still isn’t self sizing clothes or self drying.

Howevger the Pepsi McFly drinks with a built in straw has been released. Pepsi created 6,500 of the bottles and is selling them for $20.15 to honor the 2015 Back To The Future date.


26 years ago there wasn’t a baseball team in Miami, but there is now and the forever hopeless Cubs are in the playoffs.


You can pretend you are traveling back to the future today. The ride service Lyft is offering free rides for a day in Delorians.
