Brush fire in Williamson County contained

THRALL, Texas (KXAN) — A brush fire southeast of Lake Granger in Williamson County has been contained.

The Thrall Volunteer Fire Department says 88 acres are involved in the area of FM 1331 and County Road 419, and the fire has now spread into heavy timber.

Taylor, Coupland, Wier, Round Rock and Hutto fire departments assisted in fighting the blaze. A Williamson County bulldozer and DPS helicopter also helped in the fire fight. Austin police also sent APD Air 1, a helicopter with fire fighting capabilities, to assist with water drops.

The fire was 80 percent contained at 4:20 p.m. and 100 percent contained by 6 p.m. No homes were damaged and no injuries were reported.
