Georgetown Applebee’s employees robbed at gunpoint

GEORGETOWN (KXAN)- Georgetown Police are looking for two men who they say robbed an Applebee’s Restaurant on the northbound Interstate 35 service road just south of San Gabriel Village Boulevard.

Georgetown Police Captain Roland Waits tells KXAN, the two men entered the restaurant at 1 a.m. Thursday and forced the employees to the floor. The employees were closing the restaurant at the time.

Police say the men left the building with an undisclosed amount of money. Employees told police both men had handguns and their faces were covered.

Capt. Waits says no one injured in the robbery. He says it’s too early to tell if this robbery is connected to a string of armed robberies that have occurred in Georgetown over the last few weeks. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
