AUSTIN (KXAN) — Walnut Creek Trail has been closed between Delwau Lane and FM 969 to address an erosion problem.

The trail will be closed from Delwau Lane to FM 969.
The trail will be closed from Delwau Lane to FM 969.

This portion of the trail will remain closed for the next 15 business days, finishing Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. During this period the trail will reopen for the weekends.

The erosion is a by-product from the flood damage earlier this year. Anticipating a rainy fall, the Public Works Department is executing preventative measures to keep trail-users safe.

A detour has been provided for those enjoying the trail traveling south. Exit at the YMCA and take 51 St. to Springdate Road.

It is advised trail-users pay attention to signage to ensure their safety.
