Woman hit by train in South Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One woman was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge after being hit by a train Sunday night.

According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Services the call came in at 9:38 p.m. from the Union Pacific that someone had been hit by a train near the intersection of West William Cannon Drive and Woodhue Drive.

When ATCEMS paramedics arrived on scene they found a woman in her 30’s. Paramedics declared a trauma alert for the victim and transported her to University Medical Center Brackenridge with serious potentially life threatening injuries.
