AUSTIN (KXAN) — One man was arrested after crashing his car into an Austin Police car Saturday night.

Curtis Charles Williams, 44, is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B Misdemeanor.

According to the arrest affidavit, the Austin Police Department responded to a hot shot call at the 1700 block of Frontier Valley Road where a female caller said Curtis was leaving the scene in a vehicle.

When an Austin Police Officer arrived on scene she found a vehicle matching the caller’s description. After she identified the vehicle Curtis drove his car forward before reversing into the officer’s police unit.

The officer then gave commands to Curtis to exit the vehicle. Curtis refused the commands, leading to the officer tasing him.

After the altercation Curtis told the officer that he was drunk and had been at the club. At this point the officer initiated a DWI investigation and determined that Curtis was intoxicated. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
