AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you want Franklin Barbecue, you’ll need to wait in line.
Franklin Barbecue announced Sunday that the restaurant will be banning all professional line standers and order-takers.
“It has gotten out of hand, and we owe it to the rest of our faithful customers to not allow the distraction,” Aaron Franklin, owner of Franklin Barbecue, said in a message.
Along with the distractions, Aaron prefers to serve their customers in house, and not have a second party representing their food and brand.
“People line up, people get BBQ, we don’t want tier systems or there’s a lot of people who come to Austin now from Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, they get up at 3 a.m. if they’re going to wait in line. We want them to have the same experience as everyone else,” said Benjamin Jacob, the General Manager for Franklin Barbecue.
Franklin Barbecue will now be spending more time and effort to enforce the rule to ensure everyone has the same opportunity to wait in line and enjoy the BBQ.
