MIDDLETOWN, Calif. (KRON) — Those affected in the Valley Fire are getting a lot of support, and now two marijuana companies are getting involved.

Care By Design and Absolute Extracts are offering $200 worth of free marijuana.

It will go to people who live in the area and have a prescription for it. The offer is for people from Cobb, Kelseyville, Middletown and Hidden Valley Lake.

The marijuana is available at five different dispensaries, including one in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Sebastapol, and in Lake County.

The Valley Fire is now 97 percent contained and has charred over 76,000 acres. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
