Serial robber targeting banks, retail stores in Central Texas

Robbery at A+ Credit Union.

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) —  Police believe a man who robbed a bank in Georgetown earlier this week is connected to a series of robberies in Central Texas since 2011. The Georgetown Police Department says the same suspect who robbed the A+ Credit Union on Monday morning has robbed 27 various businesses in Temple, Killeen, Belton, Round Rock, Harker Heights and Georgetown.

Police say the suspect usually does surveillance on the businesses and makes a note on opening times and how many people come in and out of the business. He likes to hide behind fences and fences waiting for the businesses to open.

The suspect usually wields a black semi-automatic pistol and sometimes carries a black backpack or duffle bag.

Authorities do not have a picture of the suspect at this time.
