SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — Friday afternoon’s pep rally at San Marcos High School was cancelled due to concerns about possible violence that stemmed from a fight.
According to a district spokesperson, on Thursday, a fight involving six male students broke out during the lunch hour. While no weapons were involved, a temporary shelter in place was called until the fight was stopped by administrators.
On Friday, Sept. 25, there were unsubstantiated rumors that there would be another fight during the scheduled pep rally. As a precautionary measure, the principal decided to cancel the pep rally. The principal also reported they have no viable evidence of any threats or weapons.
