Bikers Against Child Abuse rev up their engines for Austin rally

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Sept. 26 marks the day hundreds of bikers will roar into town for a good cause.

The bikers are hoping to draw attention to child abuse.

A member of the Sam Bass Chapter, Cobra, explained the cause behind Biker’s Against Child Abuse, or BACA. Cobra said BACA “exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established united organization.”

BACA is an international organization with a central contact person to receive calls from referring agencies and individuals. The name and address of the child in need is given to a BACA Child Liason. Then the entire BACA chapter rides out to meet the child, according to Load.

The rally is Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Cowboy Harley-Davidson on South I-35 near Onion Creek.
