Homeless man’s family looking to raise funds for funeral

Merri Bruce and other family members spend their Saturday selling water bottles and asking for donations to help pay for Andrew's funeral.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The family of Andrew Bruce is looking for help to pay for his funeral after he was found dead on Wednesday.

Andrew Bruce was pronounced dead after his body was found on Wednesday. The Austin Police Department does not believe his death was suspicious.

Now Andrew’s family is looking for help to pay for funeral costs they are unable to afford. To raise money they sold water bottles and asked for donations on Saturday at the same corner Andrew used to stay.

“He wanted to be buried in Dripping Springs by his momma, his daddy, and his sister. This would mean the world to us to be able to give him the kind of burial he wanted,” said Merri Bruce, Andrew’s sister.

Andrews family was able to raise $476 dollars on Saturday. They have set up a GoFundMe account to help with raising funds as well.

Andrew’s funeral is set for Friday 25th.
