Refuge Ranch fundraising to help Texas victims of sex trafficking

LAKE TRAVIS (KXAN) — Central Texas female victims of sex trafficking could be getting help thanks to a first-of-its-kind facility.

Brooke Crowder joined us in the studio to discuss her push to build the Refuge Ranch.

Located on 50 acres right outside the city of Austin, the ranch would offer long-term help for girls ages 11 to 17. Each girl admitted would have her own unique plan for recovery.

The girls would be given a safe place to stay in addition to therapy, medical attention, music and art classes.

Crowder is still trying to secure funding to build the ranch.

To help The Refuge, you can take part in their fundraiser this Sunday at 3 p.m. at The Reserve at Lake Travis.
